Sherry Thomas Workshop and Reader Events
On Saturday, April 15, join Sherry Thomas, author of multiple bestsellers including the Lady Sherlock series, in a four-hour workshop, "Anatomy of a Story," for published and aspiring authors.
The story structure of a romance doesn't get talked about a lot, but structure is just as important in a romance as it is in a mystery or a work of speculative fiction. In this hands-on, example-driven workshop, we'll break down a romance into its essential skeletal blocks and then reconnect the bones to the sinews of the story (plot, character, motivation, etc) to show how all the components work together.
Lunch is included in the registration fee and will immediately follow the workshop.
Can't attend the workshop in person? You may attend virtually via ZOOM.
The workshop will be followed in the afternoon by a public program for readers. If you're a published author, you may host a table for three readers, complete with tea, coffee and snacks. We’ll rotate and give readers and authors a chance to sit with a favorite or find a new one. We’ll also have a fashion show where models will wear outfits inspired by one of your books or the book covers.
The Tea and Fashion Show will be followed by an open-to-the-public book signing.
